With spring time weather upon us and winter in the rearview mirror the Valley Girls are getting excited to get their summer ball started. The high school season is half way done so that means we are just about 6 weeks away from opening weekend. Good Luck to the Valley Girls and your High School Teams on the rest of your season.
This past winter the Valley Girls continued their hard work practicing weekly out at the Barn in Dundee, OH. During their winter practices the team works on strength, speed, footwork, batting technique and lots of reps on specific techniques that will benefit them in gameplay. Working on these skill sets all winter has benefited the girls as many of them have earned either starting positions or are getting time on their varsity teams as Freshman and Sophomores.
After talking with the coaching staff, they are excited to get this group back out on the field. They ended the season last year playing in Ocean City at the Class A 14u World Series. After dealing with one player being sick and a few others getting banged up, the team was able to push their way to a 2-1 bracket play record and a 13th place finish. The team went to Ocean City with only 9 full-time players and a sub player. During the off-season, the coaching staff was able to add some much needed depth to the roster which will be huge for the team this coming summer. Since the fall of 2015, these Valley Girls have a record of 53-26-1 and have played in 7 Championship Games. The coaching staff is looking forward to another successful summer and continued progress as they make their push to a National Championship.
The upcoming summer schedule for the Valley Girls is as follows:
2-4 Directors Cup 16u
9-11 Notre Dame College Showcase 16u
16-18 Slam Series 16u
23-25 USSSA Northern State 16u
7-9 Loudonville 16u Only
14-16 All-Sanctioned 16u World Series
19-23 USSSA 15u World Series
Good Luck to these Valley Girls on their upcoming season!
Roll Valley Roll!
